About Us
Hello everyone! My name is Mark Jeffreys and I’ve been interested in archery for over 20 years. It all started when I was 8 years old and I tried to make a bow using a curved stick and a rubber band. It did not work nearly as well as I thought it was, but I’ve been obsessed with archery since then.
Over the years, I’ve spent a bit of time going to the archery range and seeing how well I could shoot. It wasn’t until I got older that I found out how much your form impacted your ability to hit the target, let alone the bullseye. That and using the same bow whenever I was shooting.
I had been going to the range for a while before I looked around and I saw all the fancy equipment other archers were using. I wondered how much of it was really needed. The answer was more than I thought!
I talked with several of the vetaran archers and I learned why they used the equipment they did. This helped kick start my own research into archery equipment.
My Mission
I decided to start this site to try to pass on what I have learned about archery. I try to help you pick the right gear to help you no matter what type of archery you practice. I do all the content planning, writing, and editing to make sure that the content produced is of the highest quality. I strive to provide the most reliable information possible to help you make the right decisions.
I also talk to other archers and staff from local stores to learn about new items that may be of interest.
As much as I try to get hands on experience with the items mentioned on this blog, it’s not always possible to do so. In those cases I rely on extensive customer feedback from real customers of those items.
I want this to be a site you can trust – that is not biased with brand sponsorships – to help you make the best decisions for yourself.
What will you get out of this site?
This site tries to give you the best, real-world experiences from the world of archery. I strive to give you the best information on topics relevant to archery. If you identify with any of the following statements, this site is for you:
- New archers – If you’re a new archery, I’ll try to help demistify the different products, ling and concepts to help you get started in archery.
- Intermediate archers – If you’ve been shooting for a while but want to improve your technique or find new products to help you get to the next level.
- Casual archers – If you’re not someone looking to get into the sport of archery but want to occasionally go to the archery range, I’ll try to give you information so you can make the most of your time there.
I look forward to having you read my content, and I hope to see you in the comments!
